the first americans
We were very fortunate to have the wonderful guest speaker, Mr. Gary Ghareeb, come in to speak to us about Native Americans. The kids were excited to hear some facts they had studied in class as well as learn some new things about the first Americans. A large portion of the presentation was hands on, and the kids enjoyed trying on jewelry and firs, holding bows and bones, and playing games that the Native Americans enjoyed. It was a wonderful morning!

PUMPKIN DAY PHOTOS!
On Friday, October 25, the 4th and 5th grades joined forces for Pumpkin Day! Students made predictions and then weighed, measured, wrote about, painted, cut, counted, described, and loved pumpkins! Concepts of volume, weight, circumference, sinking and floating, latitude and longitude, and senses were explored. Students also had the chance to express themselves through writing and art skills. It was a great afternoon! Thank you to all the parents who ran centers and helped make this event a success for our kids!
